About the Role
Southeastern Equipment Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment at customer job sites. This position requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and Repair Equipment
-
Perform field repairs and maintenance in a safe, timely, and professional manner
-
Recreate and diagnose customer complaints using schematics and diagnostic tools

Communicate needed parts and supplies to the service and parts departments

Complete repairs within quoted timeframes or notify supervisor of delays

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including vehicle and tools
Documentation and Reporting

Complete all work orders using the 3C format (Complaint, Cause, Correction)

Accurately log time, parts, and materials used

Ensure daily notes are entered into electronic work order system
Customer Service and Communication
Safety and Compliance

Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

Maintain field service vehicle in compliance with DOT standards

Complete regular vehicle inspections and maintenance
Team Collaboration
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED
-
2+ years of experience in diesel, agricultural, automotive, or heavy equipment repair
-
Technical degree or equivalent experience in diesel or heavy equipment preferred
-
Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
-
Welding and cutting torch experience a plus

Must pass or obtain DOT physical certification

Strong troubleshooting skills and a high level of initiative

Physical Requirements

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 100 pounds

Frequent standing, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and overhead lifting

Regular use of power tools and diagnostic equipment

Work includes outdoor conditions and physical inspection of large equipment
